Senior Web Systems Engineer

Achievements:

·         Built out a medium sized MOSS (Sharepoint 2007) farm behind an Enterprise Array of ISA Server computers, giving Deltek users intranet and extranet access to  enterprise content.

·         Created federated search capacity for many cross-functional web based applications

·         Improved and built out a  test engineering lab for regression testing of Corporate Apps and AD-inter for both security and accessibility with ASA 5520 and ISA 2006 access from “floor LAN”

Responsibilities:

·         Mentoring more junior Engineering staff in Sharepoint and Active Directory.

·         Scripting security/monitoring automation to read AD logs and Sharepoint backup tasks.

·         Write Sharepoint applications (Web Parts) using Visual Studio and Sharepoint Designer to provide automated solutions for other business areas. These apps

·         Train and mentor a class of individuals known as Sharepoint “Site Coordinators” to support Line of Business site collections.

Achievements:

·         Responsible for architecture, design, deployment and maintenance of Sharepoint instances for both intranet and extranet.

·         Web Application Development team led the way to a secure revision of ARC’s Online Donation System (ODS), supporting the 9/11/2001, 2004/2005 Tsunami Relief and Hurricane Katrina/Rita/Wilma efforts.

·         Worked with ARC’s Information Security group to respond to numerous malware and virus outbreaks between 2001-2005, helped choose IDS/IPS systems that have enhanced security for ARC’s Information infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

·         As lead integration engineer for all forms of collaboration technology at ARC, I am both a product evangelist for MS Sharepoint Platforms, as well as a consultant to implement Open Source strategies such as JBoss.

·         Helped maintain the Active Directory infrastructure at ARC, including engineering new AD Forests to support my Collaboration Engineering role

·         Assisted with a wide range of “on-demand” tasks to support episodic relief efforts of ARC, including: Network Engineering, Security Engineering, Technology Vendor evaluation and selection, and Software Development

Achievements:

·         Built and stabilized the USDA Interactive Healthy Eating Index (IHEI), a complex SQL Server Web-based application supporting a large number of concurrent web clients

·         Worked with a team to realize www.freebizmag.com, a profiling/polling application utilizing n-tier architecture with clustered Oracle databases, before RAC made that a trivial task

·         Created an e-zine for AppNet, working with Creative Services resources to build an eye-catching precursor to today’s Blogs.

·         Project team lead for web application developers

·         Liaison to database and requirements teams to ensure on-time, under-budget project delivery

Technical Team Lead, Microsoft Web Applications

Achievements:

·         Designed, coded and implemented the majority of applications at http://www.fas.usda.gov/markettradedata.asp that are still in use seven to nine years later

·         Led a team of Microsoft Technologists in delivering effective, secure web applications on schedule and under budget

·         Helped our company renew a major (100+ employee) contract twice in my tenure by dint of positive feedback on my work by senior USDA IT officials.

Responsibilities:

·         Architected, designed and implemented MSSQL 6/Siebel 10 database SQL applications with IDC/ASP for Foreign Agriculture Service of USDA.

·         Worked closely with government project leaders to secure public-access websites hosted at USDA
